MOICE sounds like a reasonable approach to "scrubbing" email attachments or downloads or other untrusted files.

I can't tell exactly when it kicks in: (i) only when "launched" (e.g., from Windows Explorer, web browser, or an email message) or (ii) any time the file is opened (including Word's own File>Open command). If the latter, it might add a lot of overhead to working with internal documents to be converting them back and forth all the time. Perhaps MOICE users will simply convert to Office 2007 formats. Microsoft might not have a problem with that. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Here's a viewpoint from Joe Wilcox who comments on Microsoft regularly - Microsoft's Mo' Ice. This is the first paragraph:

"Something stinks in Redmond, and it's yesterday's Microsoft Security Advisory #937696. I hate when Microsoft uses
