    IF(AND(Problem? (Excel 2002/2003/2007)

    =IF(AND(B29>baseline_1,P1_pqal>0),"Approved","Not Approved",IF(AND(B29>baseline_1,P1_pqap>0),"Approv ed","Not Approved")

What I am trying to say here is:

If B29 is > baseline_1 and P1_pqal>0 then "Approved" else "Not Approved" (Next IF) If B29 is > baseline_1 and P1_pqapl>0 then "Approved" else "Not Approved"

What it should do: if b29 > baseline_1 then to Approve either P1_pqpal or P1_pqpap must be > 0

NB: P1_pqpal and P1_pqpap are data validated so that entry can only be one or the other

    Hope this clear enough

Does this do what you want?

    =IF(AND(B29>baseline_1,OR(P1_pqal>0,P1_pqap>0)),"A pproved","Not Approved")

    Hi Hans

That works just like a dream, Thank you so much.

I have never seen the use of OR like that before.
