    custom menus occasionally not loaded

I have a custom template that displays custom menus and toolbars. This global template is set in Words Startup directory.

I understand on template loadup the order is:
templates get loaded in OfficeStartup directory 1st
then templates are loaded from Words Startup directory
and then other templates are loaded.

Occasionally whats occuring is on Words startup, these custom menus are not loaded. This has just recently occured and my only thoughts are Word startups process appears to be interupted and then the templates get loaded.

thats all the info i have for now . will look into trying to get some more info <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

This is likely due to other addins which interfere with the normal behaviour of templates. Adobe's Acrobat addin is a very common offender. Do you have addins running?

    Thank you Andrew

The custom template is from a document management system.

I discovered; with the default installation of the document management system the template is added in two locations:
    C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice10Startup
    C:Program FilesHummingbirdDM ExtensionsCustom Installation

I was making changes to the template stored in the Microsoft Startup directory.

My changes were being overwritten by the Custom Installation directory template, as this is the default Document Management path and therefore was overriding my changes.

I cleaned up and removed the duplicate templates.

I made changes to the Microsoft Startup directory template and the changes were reflected in the custom DM menus.

    thank you again Andrew <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
