    Viewer for PTM Format

I'm looking for something that we can use to view a file in .PTM format. It's a map we believe our client saved from MapPoint.

All of users will need a licensed copy of MapPoint to view a MapPoint image.

Have the sender do a screen shot and send that to you.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

As far as I can tell, there is no viewer for MapPoint PTM files, since one needs the huge MapPoint database to render the image.

PTM can also mean Polynomial Texture Mapping from HP. A free viewer for these PTM files can be downloaded from HP Labs : Research : Polynomial texture mapping : Downloads.

Oh, how I wish it were one of those but it's not. I downloaded and used the HP PTMViewer but it won't open which confirmed that it's MapPoint. Sigh. I assume there's not a way to export a MapPoint file from MapPoint into a different format like PDF or JPG. Might Adobe's Create PDF Online be able to read PTM files and convert to PDF?

If the map can be printed, you can use (among other programs) CutePDF to create a PDF of the map. CutePDF becomes a 'printer' option.

You might ask the client to save the map as a HTML file.

There are several free convert-to-PDF utilities, for example pdf 995 and CutePDF.

Yup, had to send this back to the client. Hopefully the client can figure out and send it in html format. Or perhaps print in hard copy and either fax or maybe they can scan it to email. Anyway you look it, I did my best to help out.

Map point has a "Save as web page..." option on the file menu. This creates an htm file and a folder containing the map as a gif file.
