    What is the best way to count the number of names in column A that are Cashiers (attached)?

    Does this do what you want?

    <code>
    =COUNTIF(D,"Cashier")
    </code>

    Can I go one further? What if I want to expand the formula to identify the number of Cashiers named "Ben"?

    <code>
    =SUMPRODUCT((A2:A100="Ben")*(D2100="Cashier"))
    </code>
