Your blank page is contained in mshtml.dll, and is not editable.. you can however, change where your system looks for these pages.

Xteq X-Setup allows you to do this. This program makes changes to your registry, so you'll want to be sure you back it up.

You may obtain Xteq X-Setup in the Software Finds & Wants Forum, <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=free&Number=15520&page=&vie w=&sb=&o=&vc=1>Here.</A>

    I hope that helps!

If you want a truly blank page, try using the -nohome switch for your IE shortcut:
    "C:Program FilesInternet ExplorerIEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome

This will open IE without going through the hassle of opening up any page at all, even the "Blank" page. IE will open up faster, and then type your desired address in the address bar or grab a site from your favourites. The argument that was put forward for using -nohome instead of a portal homepage is "Why waste time loading a portal page when you know you are not going to look at it anyway?"

    Hi
Depends what you mean by a portal. The commercial ones are a waste of bandwidth, but you can make your own. Using say, Front Page, a home page with just your commonly used hyperlinks and text and saved as an .htm saves an awful lot of typing. It's also easy to edit and add to and loads instantaneously. I couldn't even tell you the URL or my logon details to this Board, yet I come here every day. My 'portal' takes care of the former, and my Cookies of the latter.

    Automation.
