Toggling Dates in a Form (2003/SP2)

Field 1 in the attached form is formatted to "dd/mm/yyyy" according to the properties. However, if the day being entered is within the range of 1-12; tabbing in and out of the field causes the day and month to toggle. For example tabbing in and out will produce the following results for today's date (4 June 2007):

From: 04/06/2007

To: 06/04/2007

From: 04/06/2007

To: 06/04/2007[/list]Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

The format is only a display format, is is not an input mask. Regardless of the format, the date will be interpreted by Windows according to your system settings.

If the default date order on your system is MDY (as in the United States), an entry 04/06/2007 will be interpreted by Windows as April 6, 2007, and this will be formatted (displayed) as 06/04/2007.
If the default date order on your system is DMY (as in the United Kingdom), an entry 04/06/2007 will be interpreted by Windows as 4 June 2007, and this will be formatted (displayed) as 04/06/2007.
If you enter 16/06/2007 or 06/16/2007, there can be no confusion since 16 is not a valid month number.

A "safe" way of entering dates is in the form 4-Jun-2007. By using the abbreviation for the month, there is no day/month ambiguity.
