    Enable macros (2003)

So as to restrict any user updates I need to change a workbook so that
    1) Macros are automatically enabled upon opening and
    2) Updates can only be performed using macros

Can somebody please advise how to achieve this/

    Re: Enable macros (2003)

    1) Macro security is a user-level setting. The network admin can install a policy to set the security level, but you cannot enforce the enabling of macros from a workbook - that would make the whole concept of security useless, virus writers would be thrilled!

    2) You can lock all cells and protect all worksheets with a password. Macros can update the workbook as follows:
    - Unprotect a worksheet.
    - Apply some changes.
    - Reprotect the worksheet.
