    Thanks, Tony!

It's worth noting that the download size has changed from 2,789 KB in v1.06 to 17,563 KB in 2007 free.

The download server was very slow, but it worked!

Well, bother. It installed and ran fine up to the point where after running the scan I had it kill tracking cookies, then it blew up. Looks like it's not quite ready for prime time.

    John,
After installing and running seven ( 7) beta versions fine without any problems as you mention and then installing and running the final version, as released, I didn't recall any mention of that type of problem on the beta test board.

    What do you mean by "blow up"? Not literally, I hope! <img src=/S/fire.gif border=0 alt=fire width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/shocked.gif border=0 alt=shocked width=15 height=15>

Nah, it gave me a nice hex error message dialog, asked me to report it to Lavasoft, said "Goodnight, Gracie", and shut itself down, leaving me running with no other operating problems that I detected. It was my first and only run, earlier today, since then I've been nose to the grindstone on paid work. Running XPMMC. Uninstalled the prior version first. Now I've told you more than I know.

Sir, followup report, sir. On second run yesterday evening at UTC -7, AA requested that I download and install some updates. After installing them, I proceeded to scan. My two subsequent scans have gone fine, including one with a few more tracking cookies deleted.

It errored out on me again today, the scan locked up. <img src=/S/groan.gif border=0 alt=groan width=16 height=15> At least it exits gracefully.

    Re: AdAware 2007 Free

I installed AA on Friday but was too busy then to spend much time with it. I reboot my computer and went home for the weekend. This morning I've having a great deal of problems with my regular programs erring and not working. Most noteable is the inability to use my proxy program that I use to remote control desktops to do my job here. It's been a very frustrating morning. The only change to my system was the install of AA so I can only assume it changed or removed a system file needed by my proxy program. Uninstalling AA didn't do anything. If I boot up in safemode for networks I can get it to run. But nothing else so far has worked. I've tried disabling everything in startup, turning off all services not needed by MS, telling it to not start the system.ini nor the win.ini. HijackThis didn't offer up any clues. So then I went to the Lavasoft website hoping to find answers. Their support forum for AA 2007 is choked full of complains and problems. I fear if I can't figure out what changed I'll need to reinstall my system to get back to where I was before. There is no system restore point and only needed profile and data files are backed up.
