    Linux server in Windows network?

I would like to know if it is possible to have a Linux server installed in a Windows network and replace the Windows server software. If so, any suggestions?

    Thanks

You may need to say what facilities you expect to be using on the Linux server to replicate those on the Windows server...

    Ita, esto, quidcumque...

I have a small network (8 users and a Windows 2003 server) and I would like to replace the Win server with Linux if it is possible. Basically the server is used to provide file sharing, nothing else.

If the Windows server is working well why bother?

the Windows server software is a trial version and will soon expire. Just trying out different things to see what is good.
