    2003 (Reformat)

    I'm definitely not an expert in Excel, but wanted to see if I could set something up to automatically reformat my Excel Spreadsheets when I open. I prefer to see my data in a Verdana font, size 8, with the row spacing set at 12.75. Is it possible to have a macro do this automatically on open, no matter what fonts were used.

    Are you talking about new workbooks or do you want to change the formats of existing workbooks? If you are talking about existing workbooks, then do you want this to be automatic when the workbook is opened (this means that the code would have to be put into each workbook), or do you just want a macro that you can execute after opening a workbook by pushing a button on a toolbar? The answers are different for each case.

    A macro to execute after opening the workbook on the toolbar.

    Put the code below into Personal.xls (see <post:=118,382>post 118,382</post:> for using Personal.xls). Then attach the macro to a toolbar button.

    <code>
    Option Explicit

    Sub FormatAllSheets()
    Dim oWKS As Worksheet
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    For Each oWKS In ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets
    With oWKS.Cells.Font
    .Name = "Verdana"
    .Size = 8
    End With
    oWKS.Cells.RowHeight = 12.75
    Next oWKS
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
    End Sub
    </code>
