change desktop background from within batch file (

I work across three environments using the same drive letters, but mapped to shares on different servers.

If I'm in the dev environment the S: drive will point to vtdevap01share1, Q: drive will point to vtdevap01share2 etc
but when I'm in the test environment the S: drive will point to vttstap01share1, Q: drive will point to vttstap01share2 etc

I manage the mapping and unmapping to the different environments using batch files, but I still sometimes get confused as to which environment my mapped drives are pointing to.

Can I change the desktop background picture within my batch files to be very obviously different for each environment?

    Any suggestions gratefully received.
    Regards

It does assist and it has given me a number of ways to achieve what I was after, and led me to consider other options.
    Thanks
