I'm aware of tons of advice on getting XML data into a database and have been hacking around a bit in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) but -- well it's complicated... and I was wondering if anyone has had some experience doing this sort of thing.

FWIW, the 'source' XML file is really really simple -- too simple I think. it looks like this:

<Answers>
<AnswerSet>
<Answer questionId="Fname">steve</Answer>
<Answer questionId="Lname">skelton</Answer>
</AnswerSet>
<AnswerSet>
<Answer questionId="Fname">steve</Answer>
<Answer questionId="Lname">skelton</Answer>
<Answer questionId="SurvInfo">some things</Answer>
</AnswerSet>
...
</Answers>

that's it - no schema file or nuttin.

My goal here is to seamlessly read into a db the XML generated in automation, so no-one 'knows' about the XML -- unless they really wanna know... <img src=/S/brainwash.gif border=0 alt=brainwash width=15 height=15>
