    SATA HDD

I've had some [possible failure] problems with my 2nd didk drive D:. This is our data disk and the operating system is on the 1st HDD C:. All data has been backed up to external HDD's - so no problems. I bought a Seagate Barracuda SATA drive - then realised that sata was not compatible with this PC :-( However I installed a PCI serial ata host card, installed the software, shut down PC, connected sata HDD to ata card and re-booted. Now, can anyone please tell me how to find / format the SATA HDD as it doesn't appear in explorer!

    Going noisily Nuts!!

Does the new HD show up in the BIOS setup? (F2/F8/DEL or whatever before Windows loading starts.)

    Hi Leif,
Thanks for your question. Actually the first answer is "No"; because the drive had not yet been formatted. On going to the Seagate web site the answer was revealed! RH mouse My Computer / manage / disk management / click on LH side of the label and assisn a drive letter [and name] / RH mouse on the right white pane and click format. That's done the trick.
