Use Outlook as data store for Access? (Office 2000)

I have a client who wants to produce some farily robust reports from contact data currently stored in Outlook. I know Access can produce the reports he needs.

The challenge: Can I use Outlook as a data store for an access database? I know I can import data from Outlook into Access, but I need changes made to that data in access to port right back into outlook.

Or, can I use an Access data store to populate a contact folder in Outlook? Where the data is kept isn't as important as the need to be able to edit that data in both Outlook and Access.

    Possible?

It is possible ( as opposed to easy )

I would recommend checking out examples of code ie
( http://www.helenfeddema.com/ ) has many examples of VBA code including A Time & Expense Billing App
this uses Word and Outlook but the basic principles of accessing and writing to Outlook hold

    good luck

There are quite a few MSKB articles on pulling data into Access from Outlook as well as updating Outlook data from Access.

Go to MSFT's web site and do a search in the KB for product Access and keyword Outlook.
