ZA Security suite free - or is it?

I have received an email offer from ZA linking me to this offer http://www.trialpay.com/stores/zonel...s2?tid=9ahBJFh which gets me the ZA secuity suite free. I assume though that this means that the initial purchase is free, but I'd still need to pay for an annual subscription to get updates. What I've been doing up till now is using ZA free firewall, Avast! free anti-virus and MS Windows Defender for anti-spyware.

Can any Loungers who have tried this offer confirm my assumption about paying for updates? Do you think it worth changing from my current set-up (which I am basically happy with).

<hr>"TrialPay provides a friendly service that makes it easy to get online products for free when you try or buy from one of our trusted partners."<hr>
As I read the webpage, the <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite is a present if you buy something (cost unspecified).

Even if you buy ZISS with real

Looks like pretty good choices to me, Ian, but then I'm very "low" on most software that includes the word "Suite" in its name. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    Once again I'll say TANSTAAFL.

    John,
I agree with you that it is probably a come-on to get you to eventually buy the full program or get the updates.
If you are satisfied with your current set of security programs, particularly the free ones, why change?

I'm happy to hear that it's a <big>friendly service </big> and not some group of money grabbers though.

    BTW, "(Anyway, Trialpay.com ain't British??)" <img src=/S/fanfare.gif border=0 alt=fanfare width=31 height=23>

    SO?? <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Thanks, Al (and everyone)

I think you've helped me make my mind up that if what I'm using at the moment ain't broke, there's no sense fixing it.

To be fair, it does say when you try or buy, so it appears that you don't have to buy something.

So the British OP will have to probably pay currency conversion (and perhaps other) charges on his credit card...!

I suppose you are right there, John.
Al is correct...nothing is free, even if it seems so.
