Image Resizer for Vista

Image Resizer for Vista (PowerToy replacement)

Windows XP has an excellent utility for quickly resizing a batch of images made by Microsoft called Image Resizer Powertoy. It's a cinch to install and adds a context menu option to resize images by simply right-clicking in Windows Explorer. However, this PowerToy only works on Windows XP.

Fortunately there's a great replacement for image resizing on Windows Vista made by VSO Software called VSO Image Resizer. It works almost exactly like the Image Resizer PowerToy. Select one or more images in Windows Explorer and right-click. A simple UI is shown to set a few options before resizing. The default options should work fine for most people. There are also advance options for renaming, image optimization, etc.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Re: Image Resizer for Vista

In case the file type association for a given image type has been modified, Image Resizer has to be re-installed in order to get the context menu entry back.
Sometimes just re-installing will not help though, due to some other registry setting that got changed.

Go to http://forums.vso-software.fr/fixed-vista-...ftopic-237.html and there is a POSTED reg fix for the above.

Dave, I hope you don't mind me adding this to your thread, as I like to keep "searchable" topics together to make things easier for Loungers. Loungers, please keep in mind that there are other graphics programs which are now Vista compatible and are periodically mentioned here. Both of the following excellent programs are viewers, resizers, etc. and are Vista compatible, excellent bies:

FastStone Image Viewer - Powerful and Intuitive Photo Viewer, Editor and Batch Converter

IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide
