I have enjoyed your Newsletter for quite a while. I would like to interest you in helping publicize the problem I have uncovered regarding the IE Cleared History reappearing. To get to the meat of the subject, I found that Adaptec’s "Easy CD Creator 4" has a lock on the IE History folder which prevents the actual clearing of IE History by manual means. That is, one can use the ‘Clear History’ function within IE and the History will reappear after appearing to delete. After initially uploading the Webpage, two individuals reported that a similar conflict existed with "Napster". The page now reflects this in a rather hedging manner. http://www.aandrc.com/histlock.htm
Changing the subject, I have recently uploaded a page on the IE ‘Corrupted Cache’ problems. You may find it worth a read – http://www.aandrc.com/cacheerr.htm . I did this as Ed Bott (Windows.about.com) had asked me to document some of my information concerning ‘Corrupted Cache’. It does promote my Shareware program "PurgeIE" as a means for conveniently deleting the corrupted IE folders.
