Restoring Remote Desktop from afar

Holidays can distract the mind in good ways and bad. When it’s the latter, any ensuing trouble can be prolonged while everyone is away — for the holidays.

That’s what happened to Lounge member LosFeliz when he disabled Remote Desktop in order to work undisturbed on his servers. When he restarted the servers, he neglected to re-enable Remote Desktop. Unhappily, the servers were far away in the Caribbean, and nobody there was there to help him. Fortunately, he got savvy advice in the Windows Server forum.
