When your needs don’t change but software does

Kathleen Atkins

Lounge member Bender serves as administrator of a neighborhood watch group. Among other tasks, he manages their communication system. He’s dismayed by the reduction of group services in Microsoft OneDrive, which he previously used to broadcast messages and alerts to his neighbors.

Given that this software no longer works for him, Bender asked the Social Media forum for recommendations for replacement software to meet his group’s needs. Facebook was not an option for his social media–shy neighbors. Discussion — and a solution — ensued.
