These tables provide the status of security and operating system patches reported in Patch Watch columns over the previous four to six months.
Non-security and non-Microsoft patches are typically not listed in the Install or Wait tables.
If you have an uninstalled patch in Windows Update that’s not listed in the tables, check whether it’s a security update. (A few problematic, nonsecurity updates are listed in the Optional/Skip chart.) Some updates have multiple patch numbers, depending on the operating system. Check the Microsoft Support (MS; e.g., MS13-001) links in the chart Description fields.

Patches safe to install
There is no guarantee that these patches will be free of problems on every Windows PC, but there are no reports of serious installation issues or conflicts.
