Yet more questions about Windows 10 upgrading
In past Windows Secrets articles, we’ve generally noted that you’re unlikely to get the Win10 upgrade unless you specifically approve it. But based on the widespread reports of unwanted upgrades, we’re not so sure — especially given some of Microsoft’s latest tricks. At best, the issue is as obscure as a San Francisco summer fog bank.
I’ve not seen the popups on my various Win7 and Win8.1 machines, but reportedly there was until recently no obvious way to cancel the upgrade. Your two obvious choices were to upgrade now or upgrade later.
But as noted in a MS Support page, the newest popup (shown in Figure 1) has a more visible link for blocking Win10 — sort of.
