    Application.FileSearch (2007)

My company has upgraded to Office 2007 (curse IT). A key function I use is to find files on the network that are placed in numbered folders by a host system, since the logic of the numbering unknown I have to resort to searching for the files. With Access 2007 ( I also have the same problem in Excel) the Application.FileSearch does not. I looked for previous versions of the libary but they are not available. Is there a subsituite for this function?

    Re: Application.FileSearch (2007)

FileSearch was removed from Office 2007. Microsoft, in its wisdom, deems we should use a desktop search engine such as MSN Desktop Search or Google Desktop Search. See Changes in the 2007 Office system.

You could use the FileSystemObject object from the Windows Scripting Runtime library to loop through the files in a folder and its subfolders.
