    security center disabled (xp)

I have widows xp with the service pack 2, 2007 norton anti virus, the free version of spyboy s&d, and the free version of ad- aware. I use my pc about once a week, and have noticed my security center is diabled at start up. I have changed it to automatic at start up several times, and had chosen for spybot to correct it when indicated as a problem found. Is there a virus that disables it? I've tried system restore, virus scans, to no avail. My computer knowledge is limited, so if you could advise me in layman's terms, I would appreciate it. I will be using my computer on a daily basis now for about the next 4 weeks- surfing and research, I can respond to any replies. Thank you in advance.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Norton AntiVirus nowadays is an almost allround security solution - it comes with a basic firewall, anti-spyware etc. It effectively takes over the function of Windows' security center, so it disables it. This is nothing to worry about.
