    Windows Defender

Woody has an article in the latest Windows Secrets newsletter about looking at start-up programs using the Software Explorer facility in Windows Defender. He says one should click on "Show for all Users" but I can't see any such thing to click on. (Or is that just a Vista feature - I'm on XP SP3.)

    Re: Windows Defender

I haven't yet looked at Windows Defender, XP or Vista, but in Windows Vista the OS Task Manager has a "show for all users" selection, so I'd wager the same thing is true for Defender. (I'm in XP as I type, so I'm not sure if it's a tick box or a button.)

Yes, there's a tick box for Show Processes for all users on the Processes tab for Task Manager in XP, but I can't see any such thing in Windows Defender.

With Vista there is a button "Show for All Users" that is not there on XP.

I'll stop looking for it now then.

    Thanks.

It always amused me that in Windows Defender ZoneAlarm Client was shown as "Not yet classified" as opposed to "Permitted"...
