# Thread: Sum of future data cells (XP SR3)

1. ## Sum of future data cells (XP SR3)

Hi
I have a spread sheet with several worksheets to record account balances. Each month I enter the new balance on each worksheet. What I want to do is have a summary worksheet that pulls the latest total over. For example, Column A has the month/year and column B has the ending balance, how can the summary sheet pull just the latest and final entry cell of each worksheet.
I hope you can understand the question, I was trying to be brief, but can explain more if needed.

Thanks,

The formula involved:
=INDEX(AccountA!A:A,MATCH(3E+100,AccountA!A:A,1))

If you list the tabs in the A column as I had shown in my example sheet and the month and balance were in the B ad C columns you could also use:
Entered in the B column and copied to the right and down (or down and to the right)

=INDEX(INDIRECT(\$A2&"!A:B"),MATCH(3E+100,INDIRECT( \$A2&"!A:a"),1),COLUMN()-1)

I think that did it.

Thanks,

ps: I laughed reading your Groucho Marx quote. I went to Brainy Quote online and printed out pages of his other witty quotes. I had some good laughs today. Thanks.
