1. =IF(K3>0,I3&" Points - Up "&SUM(P3-J3)&" Places",IF(I3&" Points - Down "&SUM(J3-P3)&" Places",I3&" Points - No Movement"))

Can anyone see why I am getting a #value error?

2. The second IF does not have a condition - perhaps you intended to have

K3<0,

after the second IF(

3. I presume that K3 is <=0, since that will lead to the error. If K3<=0 then you get the following statement:

IF(I3&" Points - Down "&SUM(J3-P3)&" Places",I3&" Points - No Movement")

The first part of the statement is the condition to test which is:
=I3&" Points - Down "&SUM(J3-P3)&" Places"

This is TEXT and is not a number or TRUE or FALSE, so it gives the #VALUE error...

What are you trying to achieve?
Are you after:
=IF(K3>0,I3&" Points - Up "&SUM(P3-J3)&" Places",IF(K3<0, I3&" Points - Down "&SUM(J3-P3)&" Places",I3&" Points - No Movement"))

Steve

4. Thanks both, I think I was looking at it for too long and couldn't see the wood for the trees....
