    Thumbs up

I just upgraded my computer using a ASUS M4N78 PRO motherboard with a AMD Athlon (tm) II x 2 240
processor 2.80 Ghz with win 7, 32 bit. Everything is running OK much faster than my old MSI with XP, but
I have a question. When I turn my computer off the mouse, keyboard and any other external devices I may
have running remain on. Is this normal or is there some setting I'm missing. After a short while I just shut
of the power on power supply to turn these off, is either one of these a real problem? Thank you for any info
    you can give me.

No, it's not normal to have power going through to your keyboard and mouse while the computer is "off".
Check through some of your bios settings carefully. USB vs PS/2??

After looking around a bit, it would seem that some boards can do this; Allow the computer to be turned on or off through the keyboard. I would go through your bios documentation, or search for it on the Asus site. Maybe post a question in their forums. Don't forget to give them the exact make and model of keyboard/mouse.
Invest a little time and energy in a well thought out BACKUP regimen and you will have minimal down time, and headache.
