    Hope I can get some help to solve or remedy a nettlesome problem. Often, when I boot my machine, after the desktop appears and while the boot process is proceeding, I get the pop up message (to the effect) that “Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close”. If I click that away, I get another to the effect that “Dr. Watson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close”, but at that point the entire machine is frozen, and I need to reboot. Most always, a reboot will take care of the problem for the next 5-8 starts … until the next time.

    Any ideas ? Thank you ... !

    It is possible Dr. Watson is corrupted. if I remember correctly this was an add on program that is no longer available. Here is some info about Dr. Watson. A Google search for "Dr. Watson app" returns a considerable amount of info that may help.
