    Does anyone have any recommendations/experience (good or bad) with respect to AVG PC Tuneup?

    Better to diagnose and fix any real problems rather than throwing random software at it, Don.

    Once you have loaded all those apps then removed most of them 'cause they were no good, you end up with a PC that is not optimised. As there are so many possible reasons for this it is unlikely that one piece of software will know what to fix, but it may help. You could start from scratch and re-load everything you actually use, or you could put lots of RAM in and let Windows sort it out - it's good at that.
    The only thing you really need to do is backup your data and possibly image the drive for when you delete something you really needed or the disk fails.
