    Windows 7-Windows Live Photo Gallery

My OS is Win 7 Pro 32 bit with SP1 and all updates installed.

Windows Live Photo Gallery (the latest version) is crashing with Error Code 0x80070002. I had this problem before and managed to solve it by uninstalling Windows Live Essentials and reinstalling (just WLPG and Windows Live Mail) using the offline installer. However, this time Windows Live Essentials is not shown in Add/Remove Programs, and if I run the installer it says WLPG and WLM are already installed, and I get no repair option.

If anyone can tell me how to uninstall WLPG in these circumstances I would be very grateful.

    Thanks and regards,Roy

Have you checked using Revo Uninstaller. If still does not show up, install the whole suite, then do the uninstall. With the whole suite installed you should see the uninstall info.

You might want to try the Fixit listed here:

This may be an instance where a regitry repair tool might come in handy.
CCleaner has a mild registry cleaning/repair tool that may help.

I tried everything referred to in this thread, but nothing worked, so as I had one or two additional problems I did a clean reinstall of Win 7, and I am pleased to say WLPG is now working and the other problems have gone.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread.

Too bad you had to resort to a reinstall but happy your problems are resolved.

Roy, That's what I was afraid of as I stated in another thread of yours. Glad everything is working now. Remember to create Images now Roy.
