I use ActiveDocument.MailMerge in Word 2007, and the Mail Merge task pane (wizard) does not flash on an off, nor does the Mailings tab become the active tab as a result of the VBA merge.

I have now noticed in Word 2010 that the Mail Merge task pane flashes on and off during a VBA merge, and when the merge is complete, the Mailinga tab is active.

I do not think this has always been the case in Word 2010, but I can't be sure.

Is there a way to turn this off? It was always an annoyance in earlier versions of Word when the Merge toolbar appeared. I thought the Ribbon was less intrusive.
