Oh HELP Puhlease!!

I'm absolutely tearing my hair out over this one...

I have a desktop PC running the version above with Windows 2k. I also have a laptop running Win 98 and Access 2k (9.0.3821 SR-1). My laptop also has Access 97 installed for programming purposes...

WHEW, now that I have the gory details out of the way -

I have an application created on my laptop which runs in Access2k (not converted, designed in 2k). It has a union query that runs GREAT on my laptop. Mind you this is not a complex union query...pretty simple actually...

SELECT qryWhatIfTrnNeedEmp.lngEmpID, qryWhatIfTrnNeedEmp.lngDptNo, qryWhatIfTrnNeedEmp.strDept, qryWhatIfTrnNeedEmp.lngTopicNo, qryWhatIfTrnNeedEmp.strProcNo, qryWhatIfTrnNeedEmp.strTopicTitle, qryWhatIfTrnNeedEmp.strReq
FROM qryWhatIfTrnNeedEmp

UNION SELECT qryWhatIfTrnNeedTopic.lngEmpID, qryWhatIfTrnNeedTopic.lngDptNo, qryWhatIfTrnNeedTopic.strDept, qryWhatIfTrnNeedTopic.lngTopicNo, qryWhatIfTrnNeedTopic.strProcNo, qryWhatIfTrnNeedTopic.strTopicTitle, qryWhatIfTrnNeedTopic.strReq
FROM qryWhatIfTrnNeedTopic;

Now, what's weird is that if I run this from my desktop, I get the dreaded "Too complex or typed incorrectly" error. I've tried everything I can think of. The exact same query runs fine on one PC and not the other...any ideas at all?????

Thanks in advance!!! <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>
