Macrium Reflect: no system restore points

Fellow Loungers may or may not be aware that Macrium Reflect images do not include System Restore Points. Having said that, many may feel there is no need for System Restore Points if they maintain up to date image backups, whether with Macrium Reflect or other backup programs. In the case of Macrium Reflect there is an add on which enables the inclusion of System Restore Points in images, and this is the link:

    http://updates.macrium.com/reflect/u...torepoints.exe

I hope this may prove useful.

    Roy,

Thanks for the link. One thing to consider is that using this add-on will make your images quite a bit larger depending on your space allocated to restore points.

RG, you are right and I should have mentioned that.

Is there any good reason to include restore points? Perhaps there's one I can't think of. I rely on restore points as my first line of repair for problems I can't figure out and that I know are probably registry-related. Images back that initial level of repair for me since my installs are relatively large and it takes significantly more time to process an image recovery.
