How do I add a file extension to the list in default programs? (Win 8.1)

I'd like to add a file extension to the list given in Control Panel/Default Programs. In WinXP it was really easy but I hardly needed to use it as there seemed to be a lot more extensions available anyway. Unbelievably, (well, to me anyway), MS seem to have omitted '.flac'. How do I go about it?

    Thanks.

    Go to the Start Screen.
    Type "Default Programs"
Click on Default Programs in the search results
Click on "Associate a File Type or Protocol with a Program"
Scroll down to .flac and make your changes.
