    Keyboard problem

My friend has a strange problem regarding "press any key to boot from cd", namely the keyboard he usually uses does not work until after Windows has started, when it works normally. He can only press that key by attaching a different keyboard. I have no idea why this problem occurs.

    Advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks and regards, Roy

Some keyboards are "not quite standard" and you have to wait for Windows to load the driver before they work. It's worth keeping an old keyboard handy for times you want to play.

    cheers, Paul

If the keyboard is a USB keyboard, try going into Bios and look for a setting to enable USB Legacy Support.
