    categories in Outlook 2010

    Further update:

    I am not at all sure how or why, but I "started over", reimporting the rules and then "re-upgrading" the color categories...this time it worked. Obviously there must have been some piece or sequence that was different and therefore worked differently...but who knows what!



    I copied an e-mail that had all the categories assigned to it from my Exchange account to my account. The categories show in the copied e-mail in the message, but not the colors (and I tried "upgrading to colors" but that didn't work), and, the categories do not show on the Master list in

    Is there no way to transfer categories so that they all have to be re-done?

    My Outlook account is an Exchange account. I have always kept a copy of one e-mail that is assigned to all the categories, so that they would stay with the account. But now, that e-mail is showing one category and says it is "Not in Master category List."

    I'm not sure why, since it is a common category I have had from the beginning, but never mind that. Just how do I add the category to the Mater list? I tried closing and reopening Outlook, but that didn't fix it.
