    Malwarebytes nagware?

I had to reformat my Windows7 machine recently. In the middle of January the Windows Explorer program was broken, I would try to burn a data disc, and all I got was errors. When I got the computer back up, I tried to reinstall the free version of Malwarebytes. Now it keeps popping up every 20 minutes or so to scan.
I have it to be run as an administrator, and it was never a problem before. I tried to unistall, and reloaded it, but it is still the same.

Don't let it run when you boot the system.

I have its service disabled in services.msc

You can do that by going Start - type services.msc and press enter then scroll down to MBAM - right click on it and select Properties then use the dropdown to change its status.

It will only run then when you want it to.

Open Malwarebytes and click on settings. Click on automated scheduling and check for a Threat scan entry that you can modify or delete.
