The rate that ransomware is moving the goalposts, I consider all current (there's probably 5+) products to be pre release versions.

Tt might be better to ask about the frequency of patches/updates, the number of bugs, which ones don't get on with your current AV/security setup, access to fast support, etc.

Review your own habits, Backup/Recovery/passwords/external drives.

    It's a minefield.

Many rate either one or both as very good! Main thing is, pay for one, stick with it, let it integrate itself into Windows and do its best. Although I purchased and use WinAntiRansomware before MBAR came out, I heard many good things about MBAR.

    Hello All:

MBAR = Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit Beta https://www.malwarebytes.org/antirootkit/ MBAR is perpetually held at beta and is also the testing vehicle for the future hard-wired changes to MBAM's ARK module which is currently baked into MBAM.

MBARW = Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware Beta https://forums.malwarebytes.org/topic/177751-introducing-malwarebytes-anti-ransomware-beta/ MBARW Beta is not (nor will it be) a release product but is a testing platform for the core technology that will soon be rolled into existing Malwarebytes products such as the consumer/home version of MBAM.
