    Backing up emails

The latest newsletter details how to backup Outlook PST files. I use Thunderbird and Windows Mail in Windows 10 Home - how do I backup those?

All you need to do is backup the profile directory, unless you've moved things.

Mozbackup is good for Thunderbird, but it won't help you with Windows Mail of course. And I don't know if it works on Windows 10 anyway, as it's no longer supported.

The easiest solution for both email clients, and the one I use, is to simply drag and drop your emails into an Explorer folder. Then I just backup that folder just like I do anything else.

Mozbackup works in both W8 and W10, although their are reports of a few people encountering problems. It backs up all TBird folders and the program itself, so if you use it to download Windows Mail, it will back up those folders and any other e-mail providers folders as well. I use it with TalkTalk and Outlook. Its very quick and easy to use. It also backs up Firefox and its add ons, if you happen to use it.
