    Newsletter renewal notice

Got the annual email today asking me to renew. Noticed that one of the features they tout is "LangaList Plus."
I know there are archived columns from Fred, but it seems a bit disingenuous to advertise it this way.

Please use the "Contact" tab to express your dismay with Penton support. We have no control over the newsletter.

I received a renewal E-mail today also. It doesn't mention Fred's LangaList but they're offering me a free month if I renew now. My subscription doesn't expire until September - 6 months from now. That's a bit over the edge.

In my experience with various publications the 6 month time frame is not that unusual. Nor is the offer of a free month.

If it wasn't for the Lounge (I've received a lot of help from everyone here) it wouldn't be worth it. I think they're just bleeding this now.

If you don't feel the newsletter is worth it, don't subscribe.

Note that membership of the WSL forum is not dependent on a subscription to the newsletter.

If you no longer subscribe to the newsletter then you will still be able to access the WSL forum and use it as usual.

    Hope this helps...

Actually I don't think that half the Moderators subscribe to the newsletter

I only "subscribe" to the Newsletter because I paid them US$ 25.00 way back when. The Newsletter has gone off badly since various people (we know who they are) stopped writing for it.

The last newsletter issue I received was April 11, 2017. Is Penton still publishing Windows Secrets? Or have they bailed completely?

Sad! (as trump often writes). If someone asked me if they should do business with Penton I would tell them to find someone else. They have destroyed any positive reputation they might have had.

The last newsletter I received was dated 6/22/2017:

HOW TO: How to Move Your Windows Personal Files to a Different Drive

I have gotten the current ones as Rob has so maybe you should try the "Contact" button on the opening page.

I have had to do that at least 2 times in the past. Each time, Penton manages to drop the ball again. Their system(s) don't seem to be up to the task.

So I have added the link for the newsletter archive to my desktop and will just check there periodically:
