    Skype Stealing Focus

I am running Skype for Business 2015 on my pc running Windows 8. When Skype is running, it keeps taking popping up every 20 seconds or so. I can be in the middle of a Word doc typing and suddenly typing in the Skype search bar. I've been working with my IT on this and they cannot find a solution. We have uninstalled and reinstalled Office twice, checked various settings, cleared caches, temp files, etc. As is, I can't use Skype. I've looked online for this problem - seems others have had similar issues, but nothing with a concrete solution that works.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Maybe propose to IT reverting to Lync as an interim solution? Lync does not have these issues.

That could give IT the time they need to fix Skype properly.

I was facing the same problem and resolved it with the "Repair" option from the Uninstaller. Apparently this problem occurs due to having both Skype for Business and Lync installed in the system and the problem exacerbates when you have Skype for business and another office software (word/excel/outlook) running. I guess uninstalling Skype for business and then logging into Lync will also help resolve this issue.
