What is a free, easy-to-use, replacement for Paint?

I need something that I can use as the background for my social media profiles/accounts, that has text and lines that won't be blurred
    and amateurish-looking.

I have tried Paint.net (two thumbs down).
I have tried GIMP (two thumbs down)
It's possible that no such a free program exists. I would pay someone to do it for me, but I'd have to know what program they were using, because
the internet is still in its infancy, and this is a problem that should have been solved by someone years ago.

    Have you tried Irfanview?

It would make it easier for us to recommend something if you told us why Paint.net and GIMP don't do what you want. I've used both and they're fine, as is Irfanview that Coochin suggests. I also have Paint on my PC, don't you? Paint 3D is similar - you don't, as far as I know, need to use the 3D functions.

Let me get this straight. You want free and easy to use, and you reject the Top 3 rated and most popular products that are free and easy to use?
