Installing O2K with Win XP (O2K Pro/SR-1a and Win XP Pro)

Greetings. I'm about to do a clean install of Win XP Pro on a new machine I hope to install my Office 2000 Pro Upgrade SR-1a onto this machine also. Am I right to expect that these will be compatible, and more importantly, since Office 2000 was an upgrade on a Win 98 machine and my new machine only has software included for Star Office, is Win XP Pro going to accept my Office 2000 CDs?

I found from an earlier post reference to MS Article Q210437. Will this mean I'll have to call MS Tech Support to finish the install? I'm not putting this new machine online for a couple weeks yet since I'm waiting for my DSL modem

Thanks in advance, you guys do great work here

Many people have posted that you can put your qualifying product into the CD or floppy drive and point the installer there to verify your eligibility to install the Upgrade version. Mine didn't seem to work that way, so I actually installed WordPerfect 5.1 for Windows on my computer before installing Office 2000 (Developer). It was an 8-floppy ordeal, but I figure with plenty of disk space, if Word ever wants to check up on me again, it's right there.
