    Hi,

I am newbie and try to become DBA administrator - i am learning from udemy academy.

I have VMware station and install Domain Controller and workstation.
    I am using Windows server 2008 r2.

I used this tutorial to set up DNS:

and in workstation after all steps in tutorial there is no answer from workstation:

There is an exclamation mark on my network icon. Maybe this is a problem ?

    Can you help me please?

    Thank you in advance,
    Jacek Antek

You haven't used DHCP, which is the standard method for work-stations in a domain. As a result your network is "public" and your firewall will cut off most external access. Change network type.
You should also have a default gateway, although that isn't the issue here.

    cheers, Paul
