Hardware issues may show up as high CPU/disk/network usage when the browser is slow.
I would still use another browser as a test - you don't have to stick with it.

    cheers, Paul

I'm pursuing a possibility my PC is slow because of a bad script in Norton Identity Safe. When I tried watching MSNBC Lawrence O'Donnell a yellow bar appeared telling me a script in NIS is causing my computer to run slow. Earlier, when I tried logging on to Google Chrome it took to long. A Windows problem perhaps?

It is difficult to tell where the issue might be.

Have you run any malware scans? Have you checked the Norton support site?

I ran MalwareBytes, Norton, and AntiSpyware. They found nothing. Norton seems reluctant to admit their scripts might cause problems, at least that's my impression. I disabled Norton Identity Safe. It seems to have helped. Now I think I might have to move this thread again.

You need to tell us the specifications of the system, what the workload is, where you perceive it to be slow, etc. The more information you provide the better responses you'll get.
