Excel Add-Ins

Just a quick two part question:

    1.
Is there a security reason for not allowing us to attach Excel Add-Ins (xla)?

If there is no reason, could we add it to the allowable attachments list?

    Re: Excel Add-Ins

I don't know if there is a good reason, or if it has just been overlooked.

Similarly, .dot (Word template) files are not allowed. I had to rename a .dot template as a .doc recently, and inform users that it was actually a .doc. Interestingly, it behaved differently then depending on how it was opened- that actually shed some light on the problem.
