Favorites on Word toolbar different than in IE (Word 97/SR2 (Windows NT sy

I have a user who likes to access his Favorites through Word. We have his Favorites stored on a networked user's folder, not on his hard drive. Accessing the same Favorites from both Word and IE was never a problem until we gave him a new machine. Now, the Favorties in his Internet Explorer are correct, and are pointing to that network drive. But the Favorites in Word are pointing to his hard drive (C:winntfavorites). Does anyone know the registry key/path to set where the Favorites in Word should point? Or am I overthinking? Is it as simple as a setting in Word or something (I checked out File Locations under Tools | Options, but no luck there). Thanks in advance.

Windows should only have one Favorites folder. Maybe something special was done to trick IE, and Windows is unaware of it? Check:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVe rsionExplorerUser Shell FoldersFavorites

(This is Windows 2000, but probably is the same...)
