Can you make the equation correct? Each different letter represents a different digit. (example: If W = 5, then all W's are 5's and no other letter could represent 5). Given: The letter O = 0. There are two different solutions...

<pre> WRONG
+ WRONG
RIGHT</pre>

37091
+ 37091
74182

37081
+ 37081
74162
</font color=yellow></span hi>

Steve, right on target. Both of your solutions are correct <img src=/S/bullseye.gif border=0 alt=bullseye width=45 height=15>

Can you solve the same problem WITHOUT using a zero?

Steve

Yes, I can... <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #000000; font-weight: bold"><font color=yellow>WRONG = 12438</font color=yellow></span hi>

That is INCORRECT - you have:
WRONG + WRONG = ROGHT
And that is NOT "RIGHT" (pun intended!)
Your "I" and "O" are the same NUMBERS! That is NOT allowed.

<img src=/w3timages/censored.gif alt=censored border=0> You're right - I'm wrong. <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15> Copied the wrong number from my scratch paper...

The one solution I found without using zeros (and there may be others, as I found one and quit) is: <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #000000; font-weight: bold"><font color=yellow>WRONG = 12734</font color=yellow></span hi>

WRONG = <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #000000; font-weight: bold"><font color=yellow>25938</font color=yellow></span hi>

is a another. I do NOT know how many there are.
