Date Change When Moving From POP to IMAP (6)

Recently changed from a POP account to an IMAP account. I wanted to move all my old inbox and sent messages from the POP account folders to the new IMAP folders. This worked, but the dates on the messages changed to the current date. Is there a way to do this and retain the original date?

I don't think so. The IMAP folders are on the server, and the dates you see reflect the new date that they were "received" by the server. The Sent date of the message should still be correct, so you could add that to your view of the folder to make them sort properly. (Okay, this is a theory I haven't tested. Does it help?)
